You might hear people say the DAW doesnt matter etc etc, I think it absolutely does matter.Without wanting to invest heavily in extra external plugins (initially) my head has been turned by FL Studio 20, Logic Pro x and Ableton.
Best Daw 2018 Free Life UpdatesLogic looks great value at 199, but some people say its not the best for EDM (DnB), FL studio (signature) looks nice at 250ish, has free life updates.Im at the stage where I just need to buy one and invest some serious time learning and having fun, and to forget the others. I also have enjoyed Renoise, which I think for 70 I would buy anyway, but doesnt have the stock plug in feature set like the others. Any advice would be welcome, as I cant decide what suits me the best. Dan. If you have a Mac, Logic, because of all the stuff you get for the price. Fl studio (because of the free upgrades), Reaper, Bitwig are good for the price. Ableton Live Suite is expensive, but it looks like the only decent edition of it. Best Daw 2018 Download Freeware PluginsYou can download freeware plugins or just buy something for RenoiseReaperany other cheap daw. In the end: its not about the DAW or plugins, its about your knowledge, skills and time spent on the projects. It doesnt depend much on the DAW, it depends more on the plugins you are going to use in it. So i suggest buy the cheapest and start Learning with it, If logic X is the cheapest try it, im very happy with it at the moment. However the fastest in approach of sound sculpting is not logic, is live, however i Always find a way to get some serious sounds going on, thanks also to my latest copy of Phase Plant Serum Synthmaster2. I dont think the DAW makes nearly as much of a difference as what you do with it. I like Logic quite a bit and it also has free updates for life, which is really nice. Anyways, in the end just go with what you like using the best because if youre happy using it youre going to feel more inspired than if youre using something that frustrates you. Logic or Cubase. Ableton if you are more hands on live oriented. The free version for 2 years, getting round track limits by bouncing down etc. Then waited for the annual discounts to get into standard when I knew I would get the benefit of it, ditto the upgrade to suite when 10 came out. The only other DAW that tempts me is Renoise and that purely for the tracker breaksmithery it promises. Solid advice here, really doesnt matter which you choose, any will do. Also dont forget there are free options out there like Ardour, and very inexpensive options like Reaper. If youre not happy you can always cancel your subscription without any charges. Its a really good DAW and comes with decent plug-ins effects.
